Product Description

These are from a collection we have purchased and are in excellent condition for the age.

Janos Bartl (1878-1958) started his career as traveling magician, but soon realized he could make a better living as a magic dealer.
By 1910, he was operating a shop in Germany that offered not only magic tricks, but also gags and novelties for the non-magician.
In 1919, he joined with Carl Willmann, a well-known German magic manufacturer, in a five-year partnership which saw both of their careers flourish.
The partnership disolved in 1925, but Bartl continued to sell Willann’s products as well as other makers to such celebrity clientele as Okito, Chefalo and Kassner.

This palming coin is pre-WWII.
It was sold to magicians as well as distributed by Bartl as a promotional souvenir.

NOTE: THIS COIN IS SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN A HALF DOLLAR AND BOTH SIDES ARE IDENTICAL.
