Merlins of Wakefield - It's always magic at Merlins

You begin by mixing a deck and placing it on the table. You never touch the deck again. You now give the spectator your pocket diary. The spectator will now create a random date. He cuts the deck, this is a free cut, and turns over the card cut to. The value of this card will represent the month. This can truly be any value. He counts the cards that he cut – this will represent the day. You can even offer him the chance to change his mind and do it again. Maybe he cut to a Four spot – the fourth month is April. Maybe the number of cards he cut is 15. That is APRIL 15th. The spectator opens the diary at April 15 and reads out what is written against that date. The diary might say, "21 DOWN!" He counts to the 21st card in the deck. Say the AS. Finally you ask him to look at the back of the diary where he finds a card. Written on this card is "YOUR LUCKY CARD IS THE ACE OF SPADES." Instant Reset. Self-working.Comes complete with instructions and pocket diary. Use any deck.

The performer shows the audience a fully examinable set of three cards that are held together tightly by a nut and bolt. A spectator is asked to disassemble the set and examine it. The magician then takes the set back and reassembles it. He takes out two rubber bands to hold the top and bottom card in place. He then asks the spectator to pull the middle card out from in between them, even though it appears to be held in place tightly by the nut and bolt. The spectator does so, and the card penetrates the bolt!! The card can then be examined! A Blank Version of the Popular Phil Trick Here's the original "Phil" - A deck of cards is set down on a table. A spectator is asked simply to think of any playing card, and the magician says he will name it. After a moment of thought, the performer declares, "The name of your card is Phil! You know, short for Phillip!" The audience is understandably a bit surprised. The pack is removed and then shown to have different names printed boldly on the back of every card. You show two brass poker chips, one is white, the other black. They now mysteriously change places, and then change back again. The spectators state that they must be double sided. You now show the other sides of them, and they are indeed double sided, but one is red, and the other is green. You now show the fronts, and these have magically changed to blue and yellow, and can be handed out for examination! Great close-up item, easy to perform and quick re-set.

• THINK OF A JACK
  The fronts and backs of four Jacks are slowly shown to the audience and given to a spectator to hold. The spectator is asked to "think of any Jack." A moment later, the magician removes the named Jack from his pocket! Then the four cards held by the spectator are revealed to be the FOUR ACES! No sleight-of-hand. The extremely devious gimmicks do all the work for you! (And yes, the spectator can name ANY Jack!)
• LETHAL POKER
  A pack of cards is spread face down and a spectator asked to touch any four cards. Impossibly, the four cards turn out to be the four Jacks! Commenting that, "four Jacks is a great poker hand, but they could still be beat by four Queens and even four Kings," the magician changes the four cards into an even stronger poker hand, THE FOUR ACES!
• A.C.E.S
  The four Jacks are introduced and the magician says they are "marked." The magician draws attention to the fact that there is a different letter written on the back of each of the Jacks including a 'C,' an 'A,' an 'S', and an 'E.' The four cards are laid face down on the table in a row so they spell the word 'CASE.' The magician then rearranges the cards so they spell 'ACES' and then turns over the four cards to reveal that all four Jacks have impossibly changed into THE FOUR ACES! (And again, the backs and fronts of all the cards are completely shown!)
• RAINBOW JACKS
  A three climax mindblower! First, four cards are chosen at random from a red pack and the four cards turn out to be the four Jacks! Second, the backs of the Jacks are mysteriously changed into FOUR DIFFERENT COLORS! And third, the Jacks are changed into the Aces! Supremely magical.
