Merlin Magic forum principles

• Everyone is equal.  New Magicians, old hands, full time, part time – all have something unique to offer. This is not the place to espouse your entrenched views on others.  If you cant accept this, you are using the wrong website
• Bullying, racism, ageism, sexism or any other ‘ism will not be tolerated
• Keep all comments civil
• This is a “safe for work" website
• All posts must be courteous
• Constructive criticism is absolutely fine
• Any form of abuse / or insult will not be tolerated
• Insulting language or swear words will not be tolerated
• This is not the place to settle any form of argument – commercial or personal.  Again we will remove such posts and cancel the accounts of offenders

General rules

• Only one account per person / organisation is allowed  If a further account is required – contact the administrator, who will open one for you
• Keep all posts on-topic – this is a forum about magic, to discuss off topic subjects, use the “off topic forum”
• Post in the correct forum place. We may move posts we think are in the wrong forum
• There is no need to cross-post the same post in multiple forums
• Only post your own material.  If you are using someone else’s material, notate the post accordingly
• No pointless posts. We don’t tollerate Thread bumping, pointless one liners, flamewars, trolling and spamming
• Magic is a genre that is not considered adult.  Do not link to any site that contains adult content, sexually oriented material or might otherwise be considered offensive. Any post containing an inappropriate link will be deleted and the poster will have their account deleted
• If you are a Magician whose website does also (unusually) include some adult material (not safe for work) then indicate it next to any links with the following phrase “this site contains material that is not safe for work”
• Do not discuss or hyperlink to any  warez/copyrighted software/materials that can be downloaded illegally

Signatures

• Keep your signature clean and crisp
• You can have up to 2 hyperlinks
• Don’t adjust the font to a large size
• No more than 4 lines
• Same rules apply to offensive / illegal material as main posts

Advertising

No blatant commercial advertising is permitted.  If you have a product or service to advertise, there is plenty of scope on your own website.  You are permitted to add web and e-mail addresses in your profiles.  It is acceptable to recommend a supplier, or offer your own service in response to someone else’s request.

If you do wish to advertise a product or service, contact an admin, who will assess the request accordingly.

Any posts deemed to be self promotion, advertising, or spam will be removed, and repeat offenders will have their accounts deleted at no notice. Posting and making excessive, inappropriate and unnecessary references.to your products and websites is self promotion.
